`Normal People's' Daisy Edgar-Jones set As Lead in CRAWDAD'S Film Adaptation
Daisy Edgar-Jones landed the starring role of Kya in the 3000 Pictures and Hello Sunshine film adaptation of Delia Owens’ New York Times bestselling novel, Where the Crawdads Sing. Set up at Sony, the film is being directed by Olivia Newman from a screenplay written by Oscar-nominated scribe Lucy Alibar.

Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild scribe Lucy Alibar has been set to adapt the 3000 Pictures/Hello Sunshine film adaptation of Delia Owens’ New York Times bestselling novel Where the Crawdads Sing.

”Published by the Penguin Random House imprint G.P. Putnam’s Sons in August 2018., the novel has been a publishing juggernaut, on the bestseller list for 75 weeks with 4.5 million copies sold. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will produce for Hello Sunshine.

‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ Movie Adaptation Finds Its Director
Olivia Newman, who wrote and directed Netflix feature First Match, will helm Sony Pictures’ feature adaptation of the Delia Owens’ debut novel that has dominated the New York Times best-sellers list since it was published 2019. It was also the most-sold fiction book on Amazon for all of 2019.
